Description

70 watt class a push pull mono block with 2 x GU50
Prometheus – a new audio star by AudioValve – is ready. Prometheus is the successor of Avalon, which we have produced over 20 years. Prometheus has technical features that are currently standard in AudioValve amplifiers. For example, each of the two russian GU50 power tubes is equipped with fully automated bias regulators per channel and is technically of a quality that is unique to the market. The tubes operate in the optimum operating bias current point under all conditions. In the next few days, the technical description follows, now we take photos and vote for the new product on the best sound. Prometheus is available from February 2017.
No sooner said than done, when looking for an alternative, we came across the GU50. Already after the first drafts of a circuit, one channel offered me almost 100 watts stable for a long time – it was clear to me that this was the only way to make an alternative to the 6C33. Months of “loneliness” passed with the development and unbundling of an appropriate circuit board and the appropriate housing when the first pair of trials finally ran in 2018. After a short time, this test developed so confidently in all areas that we all quickly realized – the new power amplifier has been found. Months later we implemented the work in PROMETHEUS as well as in ASSISTENT 100 – Mark 2. In the meantime 2 years have passed and many devices of the new models delight the users. To date, we have not regretted the changeover step and have expanded our portfolio with two further successful products.

Here´s my comments on my Audiovalve rig! This is my current setup:
Streaming from Bluesound Node 2 for the moment, my highend streamer 432 EVO is away for upgrade.
Also playing vinyl through my Mytek Brooklyn Dac with built-in phonostage? and the amplification is
Audiovalve Preamp Eclipse and monoblock amps Promotheus! Loudspeakers Vienna Acoustics
Mahler MK II.
My impressions so far is, Wow! The Audiovalves gives the music a natural warm sound and with great details!
My Viennas is not an easy task but the Promotheus is up to it with a punchy and fast sound! With the right
music you get a wide and deep soundstage too, great job Audiovalve ! For a natural midband and soundstage
please try Anette Askvik ”Liberty” and for a punchy rythm and bass play Kari Bremnes ”Spor” from the album
”Det vi har”. So Thanks for great pre- & power amps Audiovalve and Helmut. I will come back with more
comments later on,
Best regards Tob.
